ROBA Music Publishing and AP Music Royalties Fund have announced their acquisition of the well-known German Publisher GERIG in a deal worth €10-20 million.
Founded in 1946, GERIG consists of more than 20 owned and administered music publishers and includes approximately 30,000 songs and thousands of master rights, including a number of evergreens as well as Oktoberfest hits and German carnival and party songs.
Among the owned and administered works represented are such well-known pop rock songs as “Verdammt lang her” or GDR hits like “Über sieben Brücken musst Du gehen”, “Der blaue Planet”, “Melodie D’amour” or “Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen”.
Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, ROBA is one of Europe’s leading independent music publishers and offers a 360-degree approach with its Music Publishing, Label Services and Production Music divisions. It it also the sub-publisher in GSA (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) for publishers like Reservoir, CTM, and Ultra Music Publishing.
Besides their music publishing activities, ROBA has established a profound financing know how and will concentrate on investments in European continental music publishers and catalogues.
