The Contract
We are seeking a consultant to work with our Head of Partnership Development on executing pioneering music licences across sizeable industry sectors across Africa, from identification of opportunity through to negotiation and license implementation. In particular, to focus on PRSfM’s approach to licensing music with African broadcasters, subscription video on demand services (SVoD) and multinational brands. Key focus will be on building pioneering licensing models, gaining engagement across sectors and leading on negotiations and deal making.
The contract will run for 6 months and has been identified as outside IR35.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Music Licensing Manager, some of your project deliverables will include:
- Identifying potential licensing prospects and develop effective licensing commercial models and strategies to onboard them as new customers.
- Working closely with PRSfM’s Legal, Commercial and Financial teams to develop robust commercial models targeted at prime licensing market segments.
- Leading licencing negotiations and onboarding new commercial partners, upholding the value of music copyright on behalf of PRSfM members.
- Conducting financial modelling and analytics to aid the development of licensing models across sectors.
- Writing papers and presentations for key PRSfM stakeholders (broader Commercial and International teams, Committees and Boards) to get approval for strategies and new licence deals.
- Working with wider PRS teams (Finance, Operations etc.) to ensure revenues flow to members effectively and efficiently once new deals are in place.
About you
To be a suitable for this contract, you will display;
- Excellent all-round commercial skill set – with particular strengths in building trusting relationships, deal negotiations, and business strategy.
- Proven experience identifying and capitalising on new revenue opportunities within a complex business environment.
- Proven experience in leading licensing negotiations with broadcaster, video on demand and digital services (or similar)
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex issues to large groups of senior stakeholders – supported with excellent written skills
- Enjoyment for complex and hard-fought deal-making, solving problems and adept at working with lawyers and contracts
- Driven and dynamic individual, passionate about driving revenue growth and succeeding in challenging business areas
The Process
Our interview process for this role is simple:
- First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.
- Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.
