Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic A&R Representative to join our creative team at SILO: Music. The A&R is responsible for supporting creative development across the MGMT / PBLSH rosters, booking sessions for clients, handling all admin for clients (calendars, registering released songs, uploading songs to DISCO, etc). The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for music, a keen ear for new talent, a strong existing network within the industry, and high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Sessions: Review all incoming session requests, communicate all options to the clients and advise them on competing opportunities
- Booking Sessions: Keeping clients’ schedules busy with sessions either with an artist joining, or that have a clear target / aim for pitch
- Calendar Management: Input all info related to sessions (address, contact info, credits for collaborators) to client calendars, reconfirm sessions daily @ 11 am
- Release Admin: Register all songs on day of release, update all song info in DISCO, update Wikipedia, update SILO Spotify playlists, communicate updates to Apple Music / Spotify for applicable clients
- Client Communication: Communicate daily with clients to discuss competing session priorities, review new ideas, tie up admin items, collect signatures on necessary documents, etc.
- Song uploads: Ingest all incoming songs from MGMT / PBLSH clients and catalog within DISCO
- Pitching songs: Pitch songs from MGMT / PBLSH clients to label A&Rs and artist managers
- Talent Scouting: Discover new and emerging songwriters / producers to potentially sign to SILO: MGMT / PBLSH. Attend industry events, live shows, festivals, etc
- Industry Relations: Cultivate relationships with other industry professionals including A&Rs, managers, songwriters / producers, booking agents, influencers, etc to enhance opportunities for signed clients.
- Trend Spotting: Stay up to date with global music trends, technology, and industry shifts. Analyze emerging genres, markets, and potential opportunities for SILO: Music to tap into.
- Negotiate Contracts: Assist with contract negotiations and ensure that all agreements align with the artist’s needs and SILO: Music’s strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: At least 4-5 years of experience in A&R, talent management, or related roles within the music industry.
- Strong Network: Established relationships with A&RS, managers, songwriters / producers, and other key industry figures.
- Musical Knowledge: A deep understanding of music across various genres and a keen ear for both emerging and established talent.
- Creativity & Vision: Ability to help artists shape their sound and brand while maintaining a unique artistic vision.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to pitch and present artists and projects to both internal teams and external partners.
- Negotiation Skills: Comfort with negotiating contracts, royalties, and creative terms.
- Passion for Music: A genuine passion for the music industry and an eagerness to foster and support emerging talent.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with music production software, streaming platforms, and general digital tools for tracking and managing projects.
